Ensemble Étoile

Ensemble Étoile is a crossover ensemble composed of outstanding graduates from music academies both domestically and internationally. The ensemble's distinctive feature lies in the integration of Western instruments such as the guitar, oboe, and cello with traditional Chinese national instruments like the erhu, pipa, flute, guzheng, and Mongolian Morin Khuur, complemented by various world percussion instruments, creating a unique musical style.

Ensemble Étoile has been invited to perform at numerous significant music events domestically and internationally, including the French Consulate in Shanghai, the World Music Festival, the Shanghai International Arts Festival, and the Shanghai French Summer Music Festival. It has also been a featured performer in the "Musical Teatime" column of the first China International Import Expo and has been interviewed by CCTV. In 2018, Ensemble Étoile released its debut album of the same name in Taiwan, China. In 2019, the ensemble participated in the "Shanghai Day" special performance at the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition and was ranked among the top 16 in the CCTV Chinese Instrumental Music Competition. In 2021, Ensemble Étoile's original piece "Dolphin" won the "Outstanding Mass Culture Award" in Shanghai. In 2022, Ensemble Étoile was a finalist in the 19th National "Stars" Awards in China and mainly participated in a special performance at the Shanghai International Arts Festival. In 2023, the ensemble held a special concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival in China.

The ensemble's musical composition and performance style are unique, from original ecological styles to modern original works, all of which are deeply loved by a wide audience. Ensemble Étoile is committed to combining national art with world music, reflecting the concept of "music without boundaries, love without boundaries," with the soul of inheritance as "eternal" and the pursuit of "star" as unchanging.
